by Antonia Malan, David Halkett, Tim Hart and Liesbet Schietecatte.

This recently released book is required reading for all those living in Green Point and anyone interested in the history of Cape Town. It is the culmination of extensive research for almost twenty years.
Dr Malan, an accomplished historical archaeologist and heritage consultant, is known to Green Point residents for her remarkable contribution to the research and preparation of submission documents relating to the nomination of the Green Point Common as a Provincial Heritage Site.
As stated by Carmel Schrire in her preface: ‘This is a book that reveals the history of South Africa’s Mother City – captivating, picturesque, and downright spooky – that rests on the long-forgotten bones of the people who made it ….. This wonderfully illustrated book describes the processes of discovery, retrieval and possession within an enchanting framework of empathic scholarship.’
(The book has recently been reviewed in the 23 November 2017 edition of ‘Atlantic Sun’ https://www.atlanticsun.co.za/…/new-book-digs-up-old-graves…)
